The PHP PDOStatement fetch method is used to fetch a single row from a result set returned by a prepared statement. It is used in conjunction with a PDOStatement object that encapsulates the prepared statement, and can be used to retrieve values for individual columns.

Example 1:

$stmt = $pdo->prepare('SELECT name, email FROM users WHERE id = ?');
$stmt->execute([$id]);
$row = $stmt->fetch();
$name = $row['name'];
$email = $row['email'];

In this example, we prepare a SELECT statement that retrieves two columns from a users table based on the id parameter. We then execute the statement, passing in the id value as a parameter to prevent SQL injection, and fetch the first row of the result set using fetch().
