The idea of Face2Face is initiated by Logan Wu with the goal to help people spend more real time interacting with strangers in person instead of in virtual spaces online. It is designed to connect people for generating close-distance friendships and other meaningful relationships.
- Mobile responsive web application.
- Allows people to create user profiles and log in.
- Allows users to see other users nearby and send them requests.
- Generates a close-by location for each pair of users to meet up conveniently.
- Hashed user password in the database for added security.
- Allows group meetups in addition to two-person meetups.
- Adds rating and commenting system for users to review one another.
- Incorporates Google Map APIs to show users clear directions on where to meet.
- Clone the project using the link provided on Github.
- Run composer install in Terminal from the project root folder.
- Start the PHP server from Terminal in the /web folder.
- Open a web browser and navigate to
localhost:8000.
