Create custom, sticky announcements at the top of your site.
To display the announcement banner, use either the template tag or the do_action
:
Template Tag Method
<?php echo wds_announcements_content(); ?>
You can also immediately echo the announcement without using echo
by passing a true
value to the wds_announcements_content
function.
<?php wds_announcements_content( true ); ?>
do_action
Method
<?php do_action( 'wds_do_announcement' ); ?>
- Upload the entire
/wds-announcement-banner
directory to the/wp-content/plugins/
directory. - Activate WDS Announcement Banner through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
- Does the sticky announcement play nice with WP Admin Bar, or other
position: fixed;
elements on the page? Yes, for the most part. It was built to account for WP Admin Bar, as well as if you have a sticky header, i.e. looks for#masthead
It is hard to account for any and every scenario where an element might be sticky, but we did our best.
- added
wds_do_announcement
do_action
- added action hooks around and inside the announcement
