The Laravel Hijri bundle can be used to convert Gregorian to formatted Islamic Hijri date.

php artisan bundle:install hijri

Either auto-load the bundle in application/bundles.php:

    'hijri' => array('auto' => true)
);

Or manually start:

Bundle::start('hijri');

Set the "language" in application\config\application.php to "ar"

You need to use PHP date() "format character" see http://php.net/manual/en/function.date.php.

Hijri::HijriToString("19 June 2012", "l, d-F-Y");
// it will return formatted date string in Hijri الثلاثاء, 29-رجب-1433
