OpenSkill/Datatable is a package for laravel4 and laravel5 as well as all other composer based projects that provides a server side handler for a number of javascript table plugins.

This package is in an early development state and not everything is finished yet. Mostly the documentation is lacking, so for the time being you should look at Chumper/Datatable for a more complete solution.
